RUN FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
Last year, more than 500 people joined us at Edinburg Municipal Park to participate in the inaugural Purple Project: A 5k For All Cancers event by the DHR Health Advanced Care Center.
The sports event proudly presented by H-E-B was a celebration of hope for the healing of all cancer patients during National Cancer Survivor Month. Net proceeds benefit underserved cancer patients in the RGV through our Renaissance Cancer Foundation.
Thank you, DHR Health Advanced Care Center, H-E-B and the City of Edinburg-Government for this great event!

WHO WE ARE
To raise awareness of National Cancer Survivor Month, the DHR Health Advanced Care Center (oncology department) is hosting the 2nd ANNUAL PURPLE PROJECT: A 5K FOR ALL CANCERS.
We invite the community to join us to celebrate hope for the healing of all cancer patients! Be part of our efforts to demonstrate that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality! Also, help us spread the word on the importance of early detection.
Purple is the color that represents ALL cancers. ONE COLOR. ONE RUN. ONE FIGHT.
WHY WE RUN
Net proceeds from the 2nd ANNUALÂ PURPLE PROJECT: A 5K FOR ALL CANCERS will benefit the cancer patients assisted through the Renaissance Cancer Foundation.
The Renaissance Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2008. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to uninsured cancer patients in the Rio Grande Valley.
Our vision is to ease the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis because all a patient should worry about is healing.

A TROPHY will be awarded for each winning category!
RACE AGE CATEGORIES
Eligible runners must be registered participants. We will award a medal to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winners in the following age-groups to both Men and Women:
- CATEGORY 1:Â 19 years old and under
- CATEGORY 2:Â 20 – 29 years old
- CATEGORY 3:Â 30 – 39 years old
- CATEGORY 4:Â 40 – 49 years old
- CATEGORY 5:Â 50 – 59 years old
- CATEGORY 6:Â 60 years old and over
Medals will be distributed after the results have been verified.
