Meet TERESA

Knitting is a passion for Teresa. All her problems seem to disappear once she picks up her knitting needles. The right technique, pattern, yarn type, and color – everything about knitting makes cancer less important in that moment.

Last December, Teresa was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Making elaborate onesies, dresses, and women’s accessories have kept Teresa busy and in good spirits. It is also a source of income.

Money had been tight for a few years, but Teresa and her husband made do. The unexpected medical expenses, however, became a burden too heavy to carry.

For assistance to continue her oncology treatment at the DHR Health Advanced Care Center, Teresa applied for funds from the Renaissance Cancer Foundation.

“I am enjoying every minute of my life,” says Teresa. “A trip across town is now an adventure, and I thank every donor for the precious gift of hope.”

To help patients like Teresa, please DONATE to our Renaissance Cancer Foundation. If you would like to organize a fundraiser, please CONTACT US.

Don’t forget to visit our CALENDAR OF EVENTS for upcoming opportunities to become involved in our mission to help underserved cancer patients in the Rio Grande Valley.
