Meet MARIA TERESA
Due to a family history of cancer, Maria Teresa would not miss any of her medical check-ups. Despite this, her breast cancer diagnosis was a surprise to her.
Maria Teresa was happy working taking care of children, but she was no longer able to. Cancer symptoms and the numerous medical appointments that came with the disease forced her to resign from her job.
Surgery was performed to remove the breast tumor a few months ago. Radiation therapy at the DHR Health Advanced Care Center was next.
Struggling to make ends meet, Maria Teresa applied for assistance from the Renaissance Cancer Foundation.
“The Foundation is doing the Lord’s work,” says Maria Teresa. “I had heard good things about it, and I am blessed for the help I have received.”
A strong family unit and a passion for gardening keep Maria Teresa in good spirits. We wish her a full recovery!
