Meet LETICIA

With no family history of cancer, Leticia thought heavy bleeding and abdominal pain were of no great concern. A couple of years passed between checkups due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Then, as her condition worsened, Leticia was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Leticia has received chemotherapy treatment at the DHR Health Advanced Care Center. However, she is not done with her journey towards health just yet.

A cook for many years at a Mexican restaurant, Leticia is used to being active.

“Everything I cook tastes great!” she assures with pride. “Although caldos and enchiladas are my specialty!”

Currently, Leticia is unemployed due to her illness. She is struggling to make ends meet. She applied for assistance from the Renaissance Cancer Foundation.

“Thanks to the Foundation, I have hope I will see my six grandchildren grow,” says Leticia. “I also want to go back to work; I miss it.”

To help patients like Leticia, please DONATE to our Renaissance Cancer Foundation. If you would like to organize a fundraiser, please CONTACT US.

Don’t forget to visit our CALENDAR OF EVENTS for upcoming opportunities to become involved in our mission to help underserved cancer patients in the Rio Grande Valley.
