“I used to be very active as a construction worker,” says Aurelio. Unfortunately, Aurelio had to resign due to this recent cancer diagnosis. However, that did not stop him from working hard to keep food on the table. Aurelio is now doing yardwork and selling aluminum and iron.

His thirteen-year-old daughter and his wife Maria Luisa are the reasons behind his desire to overcome this disease. “I have been married for 20 years,” shared Aurelio. Maria Luisa was quick to correct him: “No, it has been 25 years!” The sweet couple exchanged memories with a laugh.

With the help from the financial assistance from the Renaissance Cancer Foundation, Aurelio will soon start his radiation treatment at the DHR Health Advanced Care Center. He is not scared or nervous, for he is ready to be cancer-free. “I have no words to thank the Foundation for helping me start treatment so fast,” added Aurelio. “Thank you [Renaissance Cancer Foundation] for all you do.”
